Paid $180 for a "community manager" course and got nothing but generic tips

Signed up for that online course about growing local facebook groups because the sales page promised real engagement strategies. Spent 3 weekends going through videos that basically said 'post often and be nice' which I already knew. The only concrete thing I got was a template for a welcome message, and my group still has the same 40 members. Has anyone else wasted money on these so called expert programs, or did I just pick a bad one?
