We started using a free group chat app for quick updates instead of just monthly emails. Now people actually show up for patrols and report stuff right away. What's the best way to keep everyone engaged once the initial excitement wears off?

Know that feeling, when the new thing stops being new. We had a book club that fell apart the same way. Maybe try mixing up the tasks so it's not the same people doing patrol every time, and give a quick shout-out in the chat when someone spots something useful.
