A neighbor's 20 minute rule changed my mind about lawn watering

My neighbor in Tulsa told me to water for 20 minutes twice a week instead of my daily 10 minute sprinkle. After 6 weeks, the grass roots went deeper and I cut water use by a third. Anyone else ditch their old schedule for a shorter, heavier soak?

Man that reminds me of how I used to drench my tomato plants every morning until my dad told me to just soak em hard twice a week. Now theyre way happier and I barely touch the hose.
