Unpopular opinion: The new inspection camera from Harbor Freight is actually decent for quick hull checks.

Used it on a job in Tampa last week and it saved us from pulling a barge out of the water. Anyone else tried a cheaper tool that worked out better than expected?

Totally agree on the harbor freight camera. Grabbed their cheap multimeter years ago for a quick test. Thing is still kicking around in my truck. Some of their stuff is shockingly solid for the price.

Heard about a buddy who used one of those cheap thermal cameras from a discount site. Thought it was a total gimmick. Found a hot spot in his boat's wiring before it could start a real fire. Said it was fuzzy but clear enough to see the problem. Paid like sixty bucks for it. Sometimes the cheap stuff just works.
