New guys keep checking their gas before their hat, and it scares me on every surface job
I see it on almost every crew I join at the yard in Morgan City: guys grab their console and check gas supply before they even touch their hat seal, and half the time the neck ring is still loose. That order matters because if your hat floods at 60 feet, a gas reading you took two minutes ago on a dry helmet is useless. How are you all running your pre-dive checks, hat first or gas first?
