My comic shop pull list went from 14 books to 4 in 8 months and I can't tell if that's a me problem or a Marvel/DC problem
Back in January I had 14 ongoing titles on my pull list at my shop in Sacramento. Now I'm down to 4. Same budget, same love for comics. So what happened? Here's the two sides I keep going back and forth on. Side one: it's me. I got pickier, I got older, I stopped giving books 6 issues to find their feet and dropped them at issue 2. Side two: it's them. The big two keep launching a book, canceling it at issue 6, relaunching the same character with a new #1 eight months later, and expecting me to care. I watched three of my favorite titles get the axe in one month last fall. After that I just stopped getting attached. My shop owner Dale says his pull list regulars dropped about a third since 2022 and he blames the constant reboots, not the readers. But my buddy Marcus says he drops books now because he can just read them free on an app two months later. So which is it? Did you cut your list back too, and was it the books or was it you?
