Took me 3 weeks to pick between Python and JavaScript, and I still wonder if I blew it
Everyone kept saying Python for beginners, so I started there, but then I saw half the job listings in my area wanted JavaScript and I panicked and switched after 3 weeks. I ended up going back to Python anyway and built a dumb little script that renames files for my shop laptop, which honestly felt better than any tutorial I finished. Now I'm wondering if I should have just stuck with one from day one instead of bouncing around. Did anyone else flip flop like this at the start, or did you just pick a lane and stay in it?
My cousin did the same thing with guitar and piano for like six months before he just picked guitar and stuck with it. I've noticed the people who flip around are usually the ones who care about picking right, which is a good sign, but the switching itself is what slows you down. That file renamer you built is worth more than any tutorial, so keep going with Python and stop second guessing it.
