Coding bootcamps pushed me toward bad habits that took a year to undo
Back in 2022 I did a 12 week bootcamp in Phoenix and they drilled us on copying solutions from Stack Overflow to pass projects. It worked for the tests but then I got a junior role and my code review came back with 40 comments about stuff I never learned properly. It took me about a year of building small side projects from scratch to actually understand loops, scoping, and debugging without relying on others. Bootcamps have their place for getting a job fast, but they skip the fundamentals that matter on day one at work. Has anyone else had to unlearn what a bootcamp taught them before they felt like a real developer?
