Almost quit learning Python last month because of one dumb indentation error
I spent two weeks stuck on a function that kept throwing an IndentationError and I almost gave up on coding for good. Turns out I had mixed tabs and spaces in the same file, and after 3 days of staring at it I finally hit Ctrl+F and searched for a single tab character. Switched my editor to show whitespace and the problem vanished in about 10 seconds. If you are stuck on something that makes no sense, check your invisible characters before you rewrite everything from scratch. Has anyone else lost a whole weekend to something this dumb?
