I finally had to pick between running a job with a worn-out collet or shutting down to change it

The part was a simple aluminum bracket, but the finish was getting a bit fuzzy. I could have pushed through the last 20 pieces, but I stopped the machine and swapped in a new ER-32 collet. It added 15 minutes to the run, but the chatter was gone and the finish looked perfect. Has anyone else found it's better to just stop and fix the small stuff right away?

Oh man, I read a forum post once that said "the cheap fix now is always more expensive later." Totally applies here. Good call stopping to swap it.
