My walk-in's main fan died during the Friday dinner rush
It happened at 6:30 PM last Friday, right as the tickets started piling up. The temperature jumped from 38 to 55 degrees in about twenty minutes. I had to move all the protein into the lowboy and send a line cook to buy bags of ice from the gas station to pack around the dairy. Anyone have a good repair guy in the Tacoma area who doesn't charge a weekend emergency fee?

Ugh that's the absolute worst timing. Had a similar meltdown last summer, our backup fridge went down on a holiday weekend. Ended up using those big plastic storage bins filled with ice as temporary holding stations. For Tacoma, try calling Mike at Reliable Cool. He fixed ours same day and only charged regular rates.

Only charged regular rates" sounds too good to be true for a weekend call. Every repair guy I've ever met slaps on an emergency fee after hours, that's just how the business works. Maybe you got lucky once, but telling someone to expect that feels like setting them up for a surprise bill. Wouldn't you rather know the real cost up front instead of hoping for a miracle?
