Rant: a finish carpenter in Amarillo told me to stop sanding my miters and just tune my saw
Was cutting crown for a built-in out in Amarillo two months back and my miters kept showing a hairline gap no matter how much I sanded. The finish guy on the job, Roy, walked over, grabbed my saw, and spent 20 minutes squaring the blade to the table with a machinist square and a feeler gauge. Said "you can't sand your way out of a saw that's out of whack," and he was right, gaps closed up on the next 6 cuts. Anybody else had an old timer hand them a fix that made them feel dumb for not seeing it sooner?
