My foreman on the Portland job said my crown cuts were a hair off, and he was right.

He pulled me aside and said, 'You're rushing the miter saw setup, check it twice.' I started using a digital angle finder for every single cut over 30 degrees. The difference in how the pieces fit is night and day. Anyone else have a simple trick that fixed a small, annoying gap problem?

Yeah, a sharp pencil beats a dull one every time. @pat_hart knows that "rustic" is just a fancy word for a bad cut. Digital tools are a game changer for sure.

My old boss called my cuts "rustic." That was his nice way of saying they were trash.
