Should you chase a promotion or jump ship for more money?
Last month I got offered $15k more at a new company, but my current boss said a senior role opens in 6 months. Stuck between loyalty and a sure thing. What would you pick?
Totally agree with this dilemma (it's the worst feeling, right?). I had a similar situation two years ago where my boss dangled a "guaranteed" promotion that kept getting pushed back, and I finally left for a flat 10k bump. Loyalty is nice, but a sure thing in your pocket beats a maybe that might never happen.
