My buddy swore I needed a hot glue gun for box forts, but tape works way better

He kept telling me hot glue would make the walls stronger, but after my tower collapsed 20 minutes in because the glue cooled too fast, I switched to wide packing tape and that thing stood for three days, anyone else find tape more forgiving than glue?

Read somewhere that hot glue actually bonds better with porous materials than smooth ones, and cardboard is pretty porous. But the problem is you gotta work in small sections or it cools into these hard lumps that don't stick. Tape's just way more forgiving because you can adjust it and it doesn't harden in five seconds. I tried a hot glue gun on a cardboard costume once and ended up with more glue on my fingers than on the actual project. Packing tape is the real MVP for anything temporary.

Tape holds way better on cardboard than hot glue does.
