Rant: my 3-hour airport layover became a 20-minute bus experiment

My flight out of Denver got delayed 3 hours last month, so I had nothing to do. Instead of doomscrolling at the gate, I took the free shuttle to the rental car center and then the city bus downtown for a quick loop. The trick was setting a timer on my watch, 20 minutes out and 20 back, so I never missed the next pickup. I saw the old train station and a taco spot I never would've found otherwise. It made me wonder, has anyone else used a canceled delay to sneak in a mini sightseeing trip without stressing about time?
