A power outage killed my Friday night plans, and I ended up re-organizing my garage in 2 hours
So my friends and I had tickets to see a local band at the Fillmore in San Francisco last Friday, but around 4pm a transformer blew a few blocks from my apartment and the whole area went dark. No power meant no BART, no rideshare surge pricing, and honestly no way to get there without walking two miles in the rain. I was pretty bummed for about ten minutes, then I remembered my garage had become a total disaster over the past six months. I grabbed a flashlight and one of those old milk crates and just started sorting. Two hours later I had three piles: keep, donate, and trash. I found a box of cables I hadn't touched since 2019, a set of bike tools I forgot I owned, and like four half-used cans of spray paint. The weird part is I felt more relaxed after that than I probably would have at the show. Has anyone else had a canceled plan turn into a surprise project that actually felt good?
