Used to pack my whole coffee setup, now I just bring a $12 pour over cone and a hand grinder
For like 3 seasons I hauled a full French press and a heavy thermos on every car camp trip, and cleanup at the site was always a pain. Last spring at a site near Leadville I watched a guy next to me make coffee with a cheap plastic cone and a paper filter, took him 4 minutes total. I switched to that and a little hand grinder, now my whole kit weighs under a pound and packs inside my pot. The coffee tastes better too since I'm not letting grounds sit and get bitter. Anyone got a hand grinder that doesn't take forever to crank? Mine works but 40 turns for one cup is rough at 6am.
