Shoutout to whoever designed the zipper on my North Face tent
I was out at Lake Shasta last weekend and the main zipper on my 3-season tent just completely gave up. It split open right at 2 AM during a light drizzle and I could not get it to catch again. Ended up using a carabiner and some paracord to pinch it shut. Has anyone else had a tent zipper fail like that in the middle of nowhere?
Happened to me two summers ago at Yosemite with the same brand. Was packing up camp before sunrise to hit the trail and the zipper just tore apart like wet cardboard. The little teeth where the slider meets the track just completely gave out. Had to crawl out the side of the rainfly and use duct tape to hold the whole thing shut for the rest of the trip. North Face used to be solid but their zippers have gone downhill hard. Still salty about it honestly.
