Spent 5 hours chasing a bad signal that turned out to be a 30 cent crimp
Back in the day we tested everything by hand before a single truck rolled out, now half the jobs I get the signal is already dead on arrival. Had one in Akron last month where the modem kept dropping sync every 10 minutes and I swapped the splitter, the drop, and the ground block before I finally put a meter on the old crimp connector on the living room wall. The stinger was barely touching the center conductor and the guy had been living with it for two years without saying a word. Took me almost 5 hours start to finish and I still feel dumb about it. Any of you got a story where the fix was way cheaper than the time you burned looking for it?
