Skipped the weekly ops sync for a month, here's what fell apart in Tulsa

I stopped holding our Monday 30-minute ops check-in at our Tulsa warehouse to give the team more floor time. Four weeks in, a vendor invoice got paid twice and two shipments left with the wrong labels because nobody was talking about exceptions. Has anyone else cut a standing meeting only to find it was quietly holding the chaos together?

That invoice thing alone would make me lose sleep.

Buddy of mine had something similar happen with a contractor years ago. He paid the guy upfront for a kitchen remodel, and the guy kept sending these vague invoices for "materials" that never showed up. Then one day the invoice had his address listed as the job site but the materials were going to some other town. That's how he found out the guy was building a shed at his own house. Took him six months and a lawyer to get his money back, and even then he only got half. Sleep wasn't the only thing he lost, his trust in anyone with a toolbox went right out the window too.
