I was at a coffee shop in Portland last month and saw their whole system for tracking inventory on a whiteboard.

I used to think you needed fancy software for that stuff. Seeing a Portland cafe run their whole stock on a whiteboard changed my mind. It just works.

Whiteboards are fine until you need to look up last month's numbers or someone erases part of it by accident. A basic spreadsheet on a cheap tablet is just as simple but you can actually track things over time. I saw a place try the whiteboard method and they were always running out of oat milk because the note got smudged. Digital doesn't have to be fancy, it just has to be clear.
