The old neighborhood grocery now charges $14 for a bag of rice

Went back to my hometown market last week and the shelf prices made my eyes water, but then I noticed they're still selling the same dented cans and bulk beans for barely more than 2015 rates... Has anyone else found their old cheap spots quietly plateauing while everything else skyrockets?

I used to be the guy who swore the big chain stores were always cheaper no matter what, but then I saw my local corner market’s rice price and nearly choked. The weird thing is, they’ve kept the canned beans and the off-brand cereal at basically the same price for years, and I never noticed because I was so focused on the fresh stuff. Now I’m kinda wondering if those old “cheap” places are just holding steady on the basics nobody brags about, which is honestly smart in a screwed-up way. That bag of rice hurts, but if the dented cans stay under two bucks, I might start shopping there more just out of spite.
