My roommate's grocery list made me question everything

Talked to my roommate Jess about her weekly meal plan in Austin. She budgeted $45 for all her dinners, and I was dropping $80 a week on takeout just for myself. Seeing her write it all out by hand, per meal, made me realize I never actually planned anything. Started doing a simple list and it cut my food costs by half in three weeks. Anybody else have a friend who casually changed your whole budget?
