Bought a $45 chest freezer off a guy in Tulsa, and it cut my food bill by $60 a month
I was throwing out spoiled meat and leftovers every single week, which was quietly costing me around $80 a month. Two months back I drove to Tulsa and paid $45 for a used chest freezer on a whim, and now I buy meat in bulk when it goes on sale and freeze portions right away. Last grocery run I spent $112 for two weeks of food for three people instead of the usual $170. The one catch is I have to label everything with dates or it turns into a frozen mystery box. Does anyone have a system for keeping track of what's buried at the bottom?
