Tried a $12 soundbar from a thrift store vs my old $60 one, and the thrift store one blew it away
I hooked both up in my garage setup in Phoenix last month and the cheap one had way less mud in the dialogue. Anyone else find that the off brand stuff sometimes just works better for a small room?

Man, I had the same thing happen with a $15 DVD player I grabbed from Goodwill a while back, it played everything my fancy one kept choking on. Sometimes the cheap stuff just does the one job right without all the extra junk getting in the way. Small rooms probably help too, less space for the sound to bounce around and turn to mush.
