PSA: I hung my projector screen way too low for 2 months
Built my first budget setup in the garage last fall, total spend was around $340 for a used 1080p projector, a pull down screen, and a couple of old bookshelf speakers. Mounted the screen so the bottom edge sat at 30 inches off the floor, figured that was fine for my recliner. Watched movies like that for 2 months and kept getting a stiff neck, thought it was just my couch. Then a buddy came over and laughed, said the screen center should be near eye level when you sit down, not up near the ceiling. Dropped it 14 inches, cost me nothing but a drill and twenty minutes, and the whole thing feels like a real theater now. Wish I had done that first instead of buying a better projector. Anyone else make this mistake on their first build?
