Did you also feel like you were being smart by washing all that fat down the drain? Cause same. I used to rinse my ground beef every single time thinking I was stretching it further, then I watched the price per pound and realized I was literally paying for water weight and throwing away half my dinner. My mom did it too so I just figured that's how you cook it. Turns out all I was doing was making sloppy joes that tasted like wet cardboard and clogging my pipes with grease. Now I just buy the 80/20 and drain it in a colander like a normal person, way less mess and the tacos actually taste like tacos.
