Can we talk about the Metal Gear Solid 3 ladder glitch that made me choose between a save file and my sanity?
So I hit the ladder up to the mountain in MGS3 last week and my game froze right at the top, forcing me to pick between restarting from the last checkpoint or losing 45 minutes of progress. I went with the checkpoint because I figured a crash that bad meant something was broken, and then it happened again at the exact same spot on attempt 2. Turns out the European Extreme difficulty has a known issue with the ladder trigger if you climb too fast, and now I'm stuck deciding if I should just skip the whole area. Has anyone else hit this specific ladder freeze, and did turning off the HD collection's smoothing option actually fix it for you?

Gotta love when a game asks you to pick between your progress and your will to keep going. That ladder is already a whole ordeal with that song playing, and now it's holding your save file hostage too? The smoothing option on the HD collection has been known to cause weird trigger issues, so turning it off is worth a shot before you skip the whole area.
