I swore by my old mixing tub for years, but a plastic mortar pan changed the game

For a big job laying a garden wall in Cincinnati last fall, I tried one of those shallow plastic pans instead of my deep steel tub. The difference was huge, especially with the mortar I was using (Type N, if you're curious). The wide, flat pan let me mix a full bag in under five minutes with no dry spots, while the tub always left unmixed powder in the corners. Cleanup was a breeze too, just a quick hose down. Has anyone else made a switch to a specific tool that saved them a ton of time on the basics?

Totally get that! Switched to a margin trowel for small batches and it's a lifesaver. Makes everything so much faster.

But honestly it just feels like an extra tool to clean... my regular trowel works fine for everything.
