18 years in and I just learned my trowel angle was off
Been laying brick around Boise since 2006, always held my trowel at about a 45 degree angle when buttering. Last month a new guy on the crew, fresh out of that trade school, asks why I dont twist my wrist at the end of the pick up. I laughed it off but tried his way on the next course and the mud stuck SO much better, no more slapping it twice to get it to seat. That cost me years of extra time on every single unit. Has anyone else had a basic move that took forever to unlearn?
