Appreciation post: my bread stopped being a brick when I finally bought a cheap oven thermometer

Turns out my oven runs 25 degrees cold, so my loaves were basically just steaming for an hour. Anyone else have their baking game changed by a simple tool like that?

My old apartment's oven was off by nearly 40 degrees, so I had to adjust both temperature and time by about 15 minutes.

Oh man, that's wild! Did you have to adjust the time too, or was fixing the temp enough?
