The lady at the estate sale in Boise handed me a 1912 ledger and said something about spines I can't stop thinking about
She watched me pick through a box of broken books for ten minutes and then said "honey, a book that won't lay flat was never meant to be read in one hand anyway," which made me rethink why I've been sewing my signatures so tight for the last two years, so now I'm curious how loose or tight you all go on your own bindings.
