My $280 book press was worth every penny, but not for the reason I thought

I bought a proper nipping press last spring after using clamps and boards forever. Turns out the real win is how it keeps my glued spines flat while drying overnight, not the pressing itself. Anyone else drop money on a tool they ended up using differently than planned?
