Tried a new weld prep method on some 2-inch carbon steel pipe last week

We always used a standard grinder with a flap disc, but this time I borrowed a friend's needle scaler first. The difference in how clean the bevel was before the root pass was night and day, and I had way fewer inclusions. Anyone else tried switching up their prep tools recently?

Totally agree with @brookebailey, it's funny how the right tool for the job can make such a huge difference in any task.

Needle scalers are a game changer for that mill scale. Makes the flap disc work way easier after. Might have to buy my own now lol.
