My game night almost ended in a fistfight over a rulebook
Last Friday I hosted a game of Twilight Imperium at my place in Austin. We were 3 hours in when my buddy Mike claimed he found a loophole that let him take my home system. I grabbed the rulebook and read the exact clause out loud, and turns out he was wrong but he wouldn't back down. I ended up pulling out my phone and showing him a BGG forum post from 2019 that settled it. Has anyone else had a rules argument that killed the whole mood at a game session?

A 2,000 word apology over a stealth rule? That's wild, I can barely write a grocery list that long. Poor DM probably spent more time on that than the actual game prep. Still, you gotta respect the dedication even if the campaign was already toast.

My buddy Rick had a whole D&D campaign fall apart because the DM tried to pull some obscure stealth rule out of nowhere. Rick got so heated he just packed up his dice bag and walked out the door, leaving everyone sitting there staring at the empty pizza boxes. The DM ended up posting a 2,000 word apology on the group chat the next day but the campaign never recovered. Still cracks me up thinking about it lol.
