My cousin told me to skip the rulebook for 'Root' and just learn as we played
We tried it with four new players and the first hour was total chaos, everyone arguing over what their pieces could do. I think some games NEED that structure upfront. Anyone else have a 'just dive in' tip that completely backfired?

Oh man, the phrase "never again" with Monopoly is so real. My cousin got so mad about the whole free parking cash rule one Thanksgiving, he flipped the board. Pieces went flying, a little metal dog hit my aunt's good vase. @john_sullivan2, it created a family story that gets brought up every single year now, like a weird badge of honor. We just play cards now.
