Dropped $45 on a 'premium' wooden insert for Wingspan and it made setup slower, not faster
I finally hit 100 plays of Wingspan last week, so I treated myself to a fancy laser cut insert from a seller on Etsy, $45 with shipping. The thing looks great in photos but the card trays are so tight that sleeved cards jam, and now I'm back to using the original plastic trays plus a couple of ziplock bags. If you're thinking about dropping real money on an insert, measure your sleeved cards first or just grab a $6 tackle box from Walmart. Anyone found an insert that actually works with premium sleeves, or should I just give up and build my own from foam core?
Been there, my foam core attempts look like a toddler got into the craft bin. The one insert I tried measured everything perfect except the cards, of course, because who checks the actual thickness of 300 sleeved cards before buying? My fix was a cheap Plano box with adjustable dividers, which holds everything and cost less than one of the fancy trays. Cutting your own from foam core is honestly the move, just grab a fresh blade and skip the beer until after.
