DAE have their Gloomhaven campaign almost wrecked by a chewed up card during game 14
So we were 14 sessions into our Gloomhaven campaign at my buddy Dan's place in Portland, and things were going great. Then his dog Biscuit grabbed the Mindthief's modifier deck off the coffee table and chewed up six cards before anyone could react. We froze because one of the destroyed cards was the critical x2 attack card, so we couldn't just play on. I ended up emailing the publisher with a photo, and they shipped us a replacement deck for free in about 9 days. Since then I sleeve every card that touches the table, even cheap ones, because a $12 pack of sleeves is way better than missing sessions. My rule now is no drinks or dogs near the game table, period. Has anyone else had to get a replacement part for a game you were mid campaign on?
Nine days for a free replacement deck is honestly kinda wild, most companies would tell you to just buy a new copy lol. But saying no drinks near the table is a bit much, half the fun of game night is having a beer while you play. We just use a side table for drinks and it's never been a problem.
