Sat through 3 seasons of a show I hated because a friend swore it got better
It was The Expanse, I kept waiting for the payoff through 42 episodes, then asked my friend if season 4 was the magic one and he said 'actually season 5 is where it clicks,' so I quit right there, has anyone else cut their losses that deep into a series?

Used to think quitting a show meant wasting the time already spent. Then binged three seasons of something similar and realized sunk cost is just a trap. Walked away feeling lighter, not like I lost anything.
