The bike lane on Clayton got wider and I still dont trust it

Rode Clayton Rd through Kirkwood this morning and the city finally added that extra buffer strip after 3 years of parked cars dooring the lane. It's nice but now cars squeeze closer on the left, so I almost got clipped by a mirror at the light. Anyone else find wider lanes just move the danger somewhere else?
