That old guy at the stoplight who fixed my chain with a zip tie
I was stopped at 3rd and Main a few years back, chain snapped right as the light turned green. Older dude on a beat-up bike pulls up, hands me a zip tie from his bag. He said 'this will get you home, just don't pedal hard.' He was gone before I could even thank him. Ever had a stranger save your commute with a random hack?

Used to think zip ties were for like, cable management and that's it, but this changed my whole view on them. That old guy was a real street mechanic, just carrying spares for the world without even thinking about it. Kind of makes me want to throw a few in my own bag, you know, just in case someone else's ride dies at a light.

Threw a handful of zip ties and a small roll of electrical tape in my glovebox after a buddy's bumper came loose on the highway. Patched it up in five minutes and he drove another 50 miles no problem. Little things like that can turn a bad day into a funny story.
