The day a 12 year old showed me how to use tire levers right
Been turning wrenches at the shop in Portland for about 15 years. Always used two tire levers to pop a bead off, one after the other, and fought with stubborn tires every single time. Then last summer a kid brings in his BMX with a flat and watches me struggle for a few minutes. He just says "just use one lever and push it around the rim, dude." I blinked at him like he was speaking another language. Tried it on the next tire and it took maybe 20 seconds. All those years of pinching tubes and fighting beads, and it was that simple. Makes me wonder what other basic stuff I've been doing the hard way without questioning it. Any other old timers here have a moment where a young person or a newbie showed you a trick that made you feel silly?
