Shoutout to the shop that switched me from grease to anti-seize on pedals

I visited my buddy's shop in Portland last month and noticed every pedal install they do uses anti-seize instead of grease. He swears it prevents that creaking sound after 500 miles and makes removal way easier down the road. I've always used regular grease and never had a problem, but he showed me three seized pedal spindles from other shops that tell a different story. Has anyone else made the switch or are you still team grease? What's your take after doing this for years?

Hell yeah, same exact thing happened to me after switching to anti-seize last season, @davis.emma. Grease feels fine at first but anti-seize just works better for the long haul and I haven't touched a creaky pedal since.

Wait anti-seize is actually better for preventing that creak? I thought the whole point of grease was to stop galvanic corrosion between the aluminum pedal and steel crank arm. Anti-seize is basically just copper or nickel particles in a carrier that can actually cause issues if you use too much. I've seen guys slather that stuff on and then the pedal spins freely because the friction fit is gone. Regular marine grease has worked fine for me for years on my trail bike.
