Just realized my fade shears were dull for 6 months
After a barber convention at the Dallas convention center last month, I let a sharpening guy test my shears and he said the edge was gone, so I swapped to a fresh pair and now my zero fades come out clean in one pass instead of three, has anyone else put up with dull tools that long without noticing?

Bet you felt like a superhero when you finally used those fresh shears, huh? I swear dull tools are the barber equivalent of trying to cut butter with a spoon, you just don't realize how bad it is until you actually upgrade. Six months is kind of impressive though, like you were just casually practicing advanced fading on hard mode the entire time. Probably would have saved yourself a lot of extra arm workouts if you noticed earlier, but hey, now you know for next time.

Hard mode" is the perfect way to put it lmao. I actually read somewhere that dull shears actually crush the hair instead of cutting it clean, which explains why we be fighting for our lives on those zero fades. Six months is wild though, I went about four once with some cheap clippers and thought that was bad. Your arm must be jacked now from all that extra effort lol. I bet your next convention you'll be the first one in line to get everything checked.
