Why does nobody mention perlite floats to the top and makes a mess on a 3rd floor balcony
I mixed perlite into my potting soil last month for my peppers on my 3rd floor balcony in Seattle, and after two waterings the white bits all floated up and sat there looking like mold. I thought I was losing my plants to some disease until I poked at it and realized it was just the perlite separating out. Does anyone else deal with this, or am I supposed to mix it in some different way?
