After 3 summers on my Chicago balcony I finally counted 47 tomatoes off 2 plants, way more than I ever got from 6 pots
Turns out the trick was dumping the 6 small pots entirely for one 15 gallon fabric bag with a $6 drip line from Menards, who else got a bigger harvest by going with fewer but bigger containers?
