Finally fixed my moldy coop floor with a cheap hardware cloth trick

I had this constant damp spot in the corner of my coop that just would not dry out, even with fresh pine shavings every few days. Tried all the usual stuff like venting and elevating the waterer, but nothing helped. Then I cut a piece of hardware cloth to sit an inch above the floor in that spot so air could circulate underneath. It’s been two weeks and that corner is bone dry now. Anybody else dealt with persistent moisture in a specific spot like that?

Wait till it gets really cold and that airflow just freezes everything solid instead.

@jesse_burns8 are you saying the whole system just turns into an ice cube once temps drop below a certain point? Curious if you've actually seen that happen before or just guessing.
