Vent: Trail blazes aren't kept up like before

I tried an old route last month and many painted markers were faded or missing. It feels like trail crews focus less on basic upkeep now. What do you do when a classic path is hard to follow?

I checked the Maple Pass route two weeks ago and three key turns had zero visible blazes. That's shocking for a trail that gets so much summer traffic. I actually got lost near the creek junction and had to ask another hiker for directions. Do you rely on apps when the paint vanishes like that?

Honestly, getting lost sometimes adds to the adventure.

Yeah I read somewhere the volunteer crews are stretched thin and just can't keep up with all the old routes.
