Vent: Trail blazes aren't kept up like before

I tried an old route last month and many painted markers were faded or missing. It feels like trail crews focus less on basic upkeep now. What do you do when a classic path is hard to follow?

I checked the Maple Pass route two weeks ago and three key turns had zero visible blazes. That's shocking for a trail that gets so much summer traffic. I actually got lost near the creek junction and had to ask another hiker for directions. Do you rely on apps when the paint vanishes like that?
