Warning: Told my chief to ground the plane over a flickering radio, got overruled, and now I keep the printout in my toolbox
Two weeks ago at a hangar in Tulsa, I had a VHF radio that would drop out for a second or two only when the cabin heat ran. My chief said sign it off since it bench checked clean. I pushed back and he filed it anyway. Three days later the same jet came back with the same squawk, and this time the coax connector behind the panel was green with corrosion. Now I keep the original sign off sheet in my toolbox as a reminder to trust my gut on intermittent squawks. What do you all do when a sign off gets pushed through over your objection?
